Tuesday 10/8: Books & Bars MPLS will discuss Joe Hill’s dark fantasy series Locke & Key Volumes 1 and 2. Moon Palace Books, 7 p.m., free.

Wednesday 10/9: Coffee House Press hosts its fall happy hour, with broadsides for sale and all drink proceeds benefiting the nonprofit publisher. Indeed Brewing, 3–11 p.m., free.

Margaret Renkl presents Late Migrations: A Natural History of Love and Loss. SubText Books, 7 p.m., free.

Thursday 10/10: Poet and Minnesota Book Award winner Michael Dennis Browne will read from his work. Benedictine Center of St. Paul’s Monastery, 7 p.m., free (donations accepted).

Friday 10/11: The East Side Freedom Library will host a walking tour of St. Paul’s Swede Hollow neighborhood and its immigrant histories followed by author Ola Larsmo reading from her novel, Swede Hollow. East Side Freedom Library, 4:30 p.m., free.

Saturday 10/12: Victoria Law will discuss her book Don’t Leave Your Friends Behind: Concrete Ways to Support Families in Social Justice Movements and Communities. Boneshaker Books, 1:30 p.m, free.
