The Hopscotch Translation Series will present Lawrence Venuti, author of Contra Instrumentalism: A Translation Polemic and translator of J. V. Foix’s Daybook 1918: Early Fragments, in conversation with Emily Wilson. 6 p.m. at Penn Book Center.
The Kelly Writers House will host a celebration of Ladysitting: My Year with Nana at the End of Her Century by Lorene Cary. 6 p.m. at Kelly Writers House.

The Tire Fire series will present readings by Tyler Barton, Thea Brown, and Joanna C. Valente. The reading will double as a fundraiser for The Attic Youth Center, “the only organization in Philadelphia exclusively serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth.” 7 p.m. at Tattooed Mom.
