Wednesday 11/20: The Breaking Through series, which features poets on the verge of publishing their first books, will present an evening of poetry featuring readings by Shiv Kotecha and Bianca Rae Messinger. Curated and hosted by Simone White. 6 p.m. at Kelly Writers House.
Penn Book Center will present Sarah Dry, author of Waters of the World: The Story of the Scientists who Unraveled the Mysteries of Our Seas, Glaciers, and Atmosphere—and Made the Planet Whole, in conversation with Etienne Benson. 6 p.m. at Penn Book Center.

Sunday 11/24: Head to the African American Museum in Philadelphia for the latest installment of AAMP Commune, which will center on their exhibition “In Conversation: Meditations on Black Masculinity” and feature a performance and conversation with Kirwyn Sutherland. 2 p.m. at The African American Museum in Philadelphia.
The Sci-Fi Sunday series at the Philadelphia Museum of Art will present readings by members of Wooden Shoe Books & Records from their favorite works of science fiction. 2 p.m. at Philadelphia Museum of Art.
