Wednesday 1/22: Left Voice will present the launch of their fifth issue, “Class Struggle & Revolutionary Strategy.” Featuring readings by contributors and a debate on revolutionary strategy between Juan Cruz Ferre from Left Voice and Tim Horras from Philly Socialists. 7 p.m. at Wooden Shoe Books & Records.
Moonstone Poetry will present a poetry reading on displacement featuring Sham-e-Ali Nayeem and Faleeha Hassan, followed by an open mic. Hosted by Alina Macneal and Jennifer Hook. 7 p.m. at Fergie’s Pub.
One Book, One Philadelphia will present Tommy Orange, author of their 2020 selection There There, in conversation with Tamala Edwards. Featuring performances by the Red Blanket Singers and students from the Curtis Institute of Music, with a book signing to follow. 7:30 p.m. at Parkway Central Library.
Thursday 1/23: The Tire Fire reading series will return with an evening of readings featuring Bonnie Chau, Dave Housley, Megan McShea, and Cija A. Jefferson. The event will double as a fundraiser for Spiral Q, “an organization that uses popular arts (parades, print, pageantry, puppets) to build an urban arts democracy rooted in principles of accessibility, inclusion, self-determination, collaboration, sustainability, and lifelong learning.” Doors at 7 p.m., readings at 8 p.m. at Tattooed Mom.
The Free Library will present Emma Copley Eisenberg, author of The Third Rainbow Girl: The Long Life of a Double Murder in Appalachia, in conversation with Sarah Marshall. 7:30 p.m. at Free Library of Philadelphia.
The Dead Bards of Philadelphia will present a poetry reading featuring Sean Hanrahan, Sam Fischer, and Ben Saff, followed by an open mic. Hosted by James Feichthaler. 8 p.m. at Venice Island Performing Arts Recreation Center.
Friday 1/24: Thirty West Publishing will present a release event for Not Great / Thanks for Asking, a new chapbook by Cody Roggio. Featuring readings by Rebecca Kokitus, Kaitlyn Buhrman, Amy Saul-Zerby, and Cody Roggio. 6:30 p.m. at Penn Book Center.
A Novel Idea on Passyunk will host an evening of poetry featuring readings by Ryan Black, Rosebud Ben-Oni, Jan-Henry Gray, and Nicole Steinberg. Copies of the authors’ books will be for sale at the event. 7 p.m. at A Novel Idea on Passyunk.
Saturday 1/25: One Book, One Philadelphia will present a book discussion of Tommy Orange’s There There. No registration is required to attend, but if you would like to get a free copy of the book to keep, stop by the library to sign up. 2 p.m. at Kingsessing Library.
Shakespeare & Co. will host a reading and discussion with contributors to the Best of Uncanny Anthology. Featuring Lynne M. Thomas, Fran Wilde, Sarah Pinsker, C.S.E. Cooney, Shveta Thakrar, Sara Cleto, Ali Trotta, and K.M. Szpara. 6 p.m. at Shakespeare & Co. Rittenhouse.

Sunday 1/26: Sci-fi Sundays will present a reading by the folks from Ulises from their favorite works of science fiction. 2 p.m. at Philadelphia Museum of Art.
