Our next Letter in the Mail is from writer, illustrator, and designer Kateri Kramer! Kateri sends us a gorgeously illustrated letter from her home in Colorado about hiking in the nearby Rocky Mountains, the “alpenglow” that only the earliest-rising hikers can enjoy, and why morning rituals are so special—and, she has an early-morning challenge for us, too!
To make sure Kateri’s beautiful and motivating letter finds its way to your mailbox, subscribe to Letters in the Mail by November 28! And remember, Letters in the Mail helps us keep The Rumpus running—so, you can correspond with your favorite writers and support the website in one fell swoop.
Kateri Kramer is a writer, illustrator, and designer living in Colorado. She holds an MFA in nonfiction from the Mile High MFA at Regis University where she studied hybrid essays and borrowed forms. When she’s not writing or drawing she loves to paint on location, hike in the Rocky Mountains and the American West, travel, and do ceramics.
