A.K. Summers grew up in California and Georgia. She attended Oberlin College and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she received an M.F.A. in Printmaking. Summers began working on PREGNANT BUTCH in 2005, after the birth of her son. In 2011, PB was serialized on Activate Comix, where it ran in weekly installments for one year. Summers is also creator of the comic 'zine NEGATIVA and of two animated shorts, TOPLESS DICKLESS CLUELESS and WORLD WITHOUT FEMMES. She has been awarded a NY Foundation for the Arts Fellowship and was featured in Dennis Cooper's DISCONTENTS: NEW QUEER WRITERS. Summers lives in Providence, Rhode Island.
