Amanda Rebuck joined the military in 2007 and deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Following her 2010 deployment, she received a medical discharge due to an injury she sustained as a result of duty. “Effacement of the Mother” is her first publication.
