Cassandra Lewis is an award-winning writer. The Biting Kind, her forthcoming memoir about living in hiding and the mass incarceration crisis, was recently shortlisted for the SFWP Literary Awards, judged by Deesha Philyaw. Her work has been included in ten books, and she has contributed to several other publications, including The New Yorker, The Rumpus, Broad Street Review, The Belladonna Comedy, NYC Playwrights, and The Village Voice. The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds.
