David Petrie worked as an adolescent behavioral therapist on a locked psychiatric ward and managed a day-treatment program for juvenile delinquents, but feels he learned the most about parenting while driving a school bus on a long route through the cornfields of Iowa. David now lives in Vermont with his wife and four children, and works as an editor for an educational publishing company.
