Deborah Lindsay Williams is veteran New Yorker who now lives in Abu Dhabi (which is not Dubai). She's a literature professor at NYU Abu Dhabi, a columnist for the UAE newspaper The National, and has had essays in the Paris Review, Inside Higher Ed, Ravishly, and the New York Times. Her novel The Time Locket (written as Deborah Quinn) about a 21st century girl in the 16th century colony of Roanoke, came out in 2014, and she is currently at work on a book about Abu Dhabi called From Gotham to the Gulf.
