Born and raised in Romania, Doina Tonner has spent most of her adult life abroad collecting languages and memories. After years of sharing her love of literature with students in various international schools, she has returned to her passion for writing. In 2021, she self-published her hybrid memoir, I.Undone. Her piece, "This Alien Body," has appeared in Third Wednesday Magazine, and received an Honorable Mention. Currently, Doina is the Head of the English Department at The International School of Macao.

The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds. Our mostly volunteer-run magazine strives to be a platform for risk-taking voices and writing that might not find a home elsewhere. We lift up new voices alongside those of more established writers our readers may already know and love. We want to bring new perspectives into the conversation that will make us all look deeper.
