Eli Hastings lives in Seattle where he works with Pongo Teen Writing, leading projects in juvie in therapeutic poetry. He has been published and anthologized widely in literary magazines, nominated for Pushcarts and won a couple contests. Through both his books, Falling Room and Clearly Now, the Rain: A Memoir of Love & Other Trips, you’ll see how mental disorder and addiction have affected his life. Because of this, Hastings is currently in the midst of a clinical internship counseling youth.

The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds. Our mostly volunteer-run magazine strives to be a platform for risk-taking voices and writing that might not find a home elsewhere. We lift up new voices alongside those of more established writers our readers may already know and love. We want to bring new perspectives into the conversation that will make us all look deeper.
