Jet Toomer

Jet Toomer is a writer and community organizer. She writes in many forms. Her writing has been featured in Southern Cultures, The Massachusetts Review, Full Bleed, Victory Journal among other notable publications. Jet pens a column at the intersections of culture, belonging, and womanism on Substack called Tiny Violences. Her literary work extends beyond the page to include facilitating writing workshops and moderating panels. She is a proud supporter and board member of the Free Black Women’s Library. As an organizer at the site of cultural production Jet produces spaces for Queer Black Women & Femmes as co-founder of the Josie Club.  She was born & raised in New York, where she still lives.
