Jules Fitz Gerald (she/her) is a writer based in Oregon. Her fiction most recently appears in A Public Space, The Common, Salamander, Wigleaf, and Witness. She’s a 2023 Tin House Summer Workshop and Kenyon Review Writers Workshop alum and winner of the 2024 “Stories Out of School” flash fiction contest judged by Karen Russell. She also writes Three or More Stars, a Substack of book recommendations, and has several books underway.

The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds. Our mostly volunteer-run magazine strives to be a platform for risk-taking voices and writing that might not find a home elsewhere. We lift up new voices alongside those of more established writers our readers may already know and love. We want to bring new perspectives into the conversation that will make us all look deeper.
