Kate Harlin is a PhD candidate in literature at the University of Missouri, where she is writing a dissertation on suicide in contemporary fiction from the African diaspora. The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds.
