Kristin Gourlay is a writer and award winning multimedia journalist from Oak Park, Illinois. A former public radio reporter covering healthcare, in particular addiction, Kristin’s work can be heard on National Public Radio and several NPR member stations. She has also written for McSweeney’s. Gourlay earned her MS in journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She is also an accomplished vocalist and enjoys singing the tight, lush harmonies of the Balkans and Georgia. She is at work on a memoir, The Geographic. Find her on Twitter at @kristingourlay.

The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds.
