Laura P. McCarty’s creative work has appeared in descant, Lunch Ticket, Jelly Bucket, the Poetry Super Highway, and is forthcoming in the St. Petersburg Review. In 2016, she was a finalist for the Diana Woods Memorial Award in Creative Nonfiction. Laura received her MFA from American University and works in international development in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. She lives in Arlington, VA, with her daughters, dog and (when she’s lucky) bees.
