Mathilde Merouani’s work has appeared in Joyland, The Common, Fugue, and 3:AM Magazine. She won the 2021 Joyland Open Border Fiction Prize, and her translations of Michel Butor’s essays have been published by Vanguard Editions. She is currently pursuing an MFA at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she won the John Logan prize for poetry.

The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds.
