Patricia Parkinson lives in the suburbs outside of Vancouver, BC. She was fortunate to have another son and also has an awe inspiring step daughter. Her work has appearing in various publications in print and online. She is currently working on her memoir, a series of short stories about her struggles with mental illness.

    In the Parenting Transgender Children support groups I belong to on Facebook, we refer to our previous-gendered child’s birth name as Dead Name.
