Shaila Kapoor was born to Indian immigrants and raised in the small town of Weatherford, Texas. She is currently working on a memoir that explores identity as a first generation Indian-American. Her work has been published in Broad Street Review, Hippocampus Magazine, Have Faith, Will Parent, and others. Shaila holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and UCLA and outside of writing she has been an entrepreneur and a producer for public radio. She currently consults in education and marketing and lives in Redwood City, CA with her husband and two children.
