Vanessa Mártir is the founder of the Writing Our Lives Workshop and the Writing the Mother Wound Movement. She’s working on her memoir, A Dim Capacity for Wings, and her work has been widely published in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Longreads, The Rumpus, Bitch Magazine, and the New York Times best-seller Not That Bad, edited by Roxane Gay, among others. When she's not writing or teaching, you can find Vanessa in a forest somewhere, learning lessons only nature can teach.
