Marie Arana, the longtime editor of The Washington Post’s Book World is stepping down tomorrow. “For 15 years I have had the privilege and honor of serving the best book review section in the country,” Arana writes on the WPBW blog. And while no one doubts that Book World is one of the most prominent book reviews in the U.S., Arana’s departure comes at a time when book reviewing in general is on the decline.

That’s where The Rumpus.net comes in.
