    (aside: I read and loved Kurlansky’s Cod before I knew that so many other things had also changed the world. Seriously can’t get enough of Kurlansky.)

  3. May I also submit “He Almost Changed the World: The Life and Times of Thomas Riley Marshall”

    It is the especially pathetic tale of Wilson’s VP, who almost became president.

  4. The title of this list is kind of misleading. It’s a list of books about things that changed the world, or at least a list of books with “that changed the world” in their title. It’s not a list of books that actually changed the world (whether or not their title says so…).

  5. I agree, the title is a bit misleading. Still some good books on there. Simon Winchester’s one of Geology is excellent.
