“An Avalanche of shit is about the only way to think of the new books that are scheduled to come out in the near future even as publishers see themselves going out of business, cutting back and moaning that this is the most difficult time they have ever faced.” Why does “cutting back” mean “making worse”? It’s not new that people aren’t reading, but “what has changed is the sheer amount of crap that the publishers keep shoveling out.”
“to sift through the crap,” which revolve around one idea: if you find a book that isn’t written by an author who writes books professionally, do not read this book. As for the books marked “to read,” they share one quality: they are timeless. says, “I can guarantee that these five books will be still be read as long as books are being read and you will be able to re-read them with increased enjoyment. . .”
