The idea behind Sebastian Kempa’s latest photographic endeavor, The Naked People Project, is simple: Photograph people with their clothes on and then, with a simple click of the computer mouse, watch as their clothes disappear and transform into glorious nudity. The website features twenty-seven different models, listing their name, age and profession, ranging from examples such as Laura, a twenty-two year old veterinary assistant to Harald, a wiry forty-nine year old medic. Utilizing a simple flash mechanism, Kempa’s new photographic project unveils and investigates our stereotypes of what it means to be naked, and how our bodies, through clothes, are kept secret from the world. Not pornographic in any way, but nonetheless probably NSFW.
