BookExpo America is back in New York at the Jacob Javits Center with a show, conference and special events. What’s nice about Book Expo is that all the booksellers come to town, the bookstore owners and employees from across the country. These are good people. lovers of books, holders of light. 5:30PM-6:30PM: BEA’S Opening Night Keynote – Don’t join Aerosmith’s Stephen Tyler and Clarence Clemons as they discuss their new memoirs with Chuck Klosterman, because this is the kind of thing that kills plants – (Javits – Special Events Hall; tickets required)
7:00 – James Frey reads from his “debut” novel at Book Court in Brooklyn

3:00 – Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, III, who landed the plane safely in the Hudson, will appear at the convention as a Guest of Honor. If there’s something wrongn with you, and you hate literature and everything good in the world, don’t miss this event. (Javits)
4:00pm – 6:30pm: CLMP’s Magathon – join the editors of Agni, Fence, One Story and many others as they offer new selections from their publications. At The New York Public Library’s DeWitt Wallace Periodicals Room (5th Ave. and 42nd St.)
6:00pm – You’re Not Alone – Hosted by The Rumpus, McSweeney’s and SMITH Mag, brings you comedy by Eugene Mirman, Music by Amanda Palmer and readings by Anthony Swofford among the many illustrious guests. At Highline Ballroom (show starts at 7:00pm)
