We’re not ones to write about pop stars, but NPR is reporting that Afghan “musical hero” Farhad Darya is performing numerous free concerts “to encourage his countrymen to vote in the upcoming presidential election.”
On Tuesday night Darya’s show in Kabul “drew about 30,000 excited fans” who heard his message of patriotism and action. “If you don’t feel that this land is yours, it cannot be my prosperous house,” Farhad sang.
The pop star is not publicly supporting any of the candidates. Listen to the story here.
