FAST TRACK
Mohammed Bayoumi took me to the UN. I had an interview and the UN said they would get me a blue card for full refugee protection. A month later I got the blue card. Mohammed Bayoumi gave my case to the American Embassy, the Canadian Embassy, and the Australian Embassy. The Americans and Australians said they would only consider me for resettlement if my file was referred by he UN. So far the UN has done nothing. But the Canadians are considering me for resettlement. The procss is called fast-track resettlement, because I am in danger here. They could take me any time, but I have no news yet.
If I traveled to another country, I might have protection from another government. Right now, nobody protects me. The United Nations does not protect me, Egypt does not protect me, my husband does not protect me. My husband told me that according to Islam, what happened to me means that I am no longer his lawful wife. I know he is just a coward and irresponsible and doesn’t want to suport me in my ordeal, and so he is finding excuses for himself. WIthout protection, my life is in the hands of God.
Now I am trying to get residency stamps, so I will be allowed to get copies of my police report and give them to the UN so they can help me get resettled. But the residency stamps are controlled by state security, and I think the officer’s family has a hand in stopping me, because I still have no residency stamp after nine months of this.
