If your heart lingers well below the baritone range, then you probably love the music of The Magnetic Fields. You’re not alone.
A collection of “mostly London-based comic-artists, illustrators and writers” have made it their mission to illustrate every song from the Magnetic Fields’ three-disc recording 69 Love Songs. The project, How Fucking Romantic, is built on an exhaustive admiration similar to the one Zak Smith brought to illustrating every page of Thomas Pynchon’s Gravity’s Rainbow, and Matt Kish to every page of Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. The list of 69 songs still has a few left to be drawn, so there’s more to look forward to.
Need more? The Magnetic Fields have a new album coming out on January 26. Enjoy.
