Hayv Kahraman was born in Baghdad in 1981 and currently lives and works in the US. She is a graduate of the Academia di Arte e Design di Firenze in Florence, Italy.
I discovered Hayv’s work just yesterday through tumblr and got in touch with her. She kindly agreed to share her work on the blog. It turns out that she knows Ala Ebtekar, who I featured in my last post!
The first three works in this post are “paintings of the traditional fashion in the United Arab Emirates.” I love them.
