Monday 2/22: Hear The Rumpus’ own Stephen Elliott read about everyone’s favorite subject: sex. Head over to the Verdi Club for the Porchlight Storytelling Series’ La Petit Mort: The Sex Show. Tuesday 2/23: Noise Pop kicks off officially tonight with an opening party at Benders and Yoko Ono’s first Bay Area performance in over 14 years at the Fox Theater. Wednesday 2/24: Completely inappropriate name for an elementary school fundraiser or not, support Bryan Elementary School’s Experience Corp tutoring program by heading down to The Riptide Cocktails for Wet Wednesday. Up for grabs at the raffle: a surfboard from Las Olas Surfboards and prizes from Timbuk2, Red Vic Movie House, Java Beach cafe, The Pizza Place on Noriega and other local businesses. 21+, 8pm-2am @ 3639 Taraval Street.

Thursday 2/25: Favorite Rumpus comedian W. Kamau Bell celebrates the launch of his new CD, Face Full of Flour, with his show Blacktastic Black History Month Blacktacular…black! at Stage Werx. Go see the man Margaret Cho calls, “The most important guy doing comedy right now.” General admission is $20, but $50 will get you the best seat in the house, both of Kamau’s cds, and a hug from Mister Bell himself. 8pm @ 533 Sutter Street.

Friday 2/26: Venture out to the Richmond for an evening of fine art and music at Park Life’s opening reception for Bro Palace, a collaborative show featuring the art of Skinner, Porous Walker, Jay Howell, Deth P. Sun, and Ferris Plock, and live music by The Oh Sees. 7-10pm @ 220 Clement Street.

Saturday 2/27: Spend the day at Booksmith with your own unread magazines for the first annual Magazine Day. Show up between 1 and 6pm for an afternoon of periodical reading — bring your own, trade with your neighbors, and take advantage of Booksmith’s own racks (plus all the coffee and pastries you can eat!) for a mere $5. Booksmith is located at 1644 Haight Street.
