“I think of (Pablo Neruda) as a very fine poet, a very fine poet. I don’t admire him as a man, I think of him as a very mean man.”

Nigel Beale reminds us that Jorge Luis Borges didn’t like Neruda, mostly because of his politics, but he made a point of supporting his poetry, going as far as to protest when Neruda was not given the Nobel Prize in 1967. (via @electriclit)
