Monday 5/31: Catch the tail end of the San Francisco Museum and Historical Society’s From Earth to 5-Star program at the old Mint Building. The SFMHS has opened up the old Mint Building to the public for a temporary exhibit of food and drink innovations that focus on sustainability and the future of food in San Francsico. $10 at the door, 12-5pm @ 88 Fifth Street.
Tuesday 6/1: Check out The Luggage Store at their new location before they officially open in the fall. Every Tuesday in June, show up between 6 and 8pm for Sunny Angulo’s happy hour workshops. Wednesday 6/2: Get yourself to the SF Public Library’s Main Branch for Radar Superstar, the 7th anniversary of Radar’s queer arts and literature events, hosted by Michelle Tea. See performance artist Nao Bustamante, Aussie writer Alistair McCartney, writer/solo performer Tim Miller and Tina Takemoto as you gear up for the upcoming Pride festivities. Free and all ages, 6pm @ 100 Larkin Street.
Thursday 6/3: Get your crafty ass down to Workshop SF for the Divisadero Art Walk! The party will rage from 7-11pm with music by the Downer Party, art by Holly Coley, live crafting in the form of hand sewn and screened beer koozies, sweet drink specials, and a brand new schedule of workshop classes. The art walk spans Divisadero, and Workshop SF is located at 1798 McAllister Street.
Friday 6/4: Stop by Electric Works to get your fill of fine art and drag queens at the opening reception of infamous San Francisco Photographer, Dan Nicoletta’s first solo show in over a decade: More Glitter — Less Bitter, photographs from 1975-present. Nicoletta began his foray into photography at age 19 when he began working a Harvey Milk’s Castro camera shop. Since then, Nicoletta has documented the fabulous rise of the Bay Area LGBT community through stunning portraits. 6-8pm @ 130 Eighth Street.
Saturday 6/5: Ever wondered where infamous San Francisco film scenes from Bullitt, The Conversation, or Vertigo took place? Join the San Francisco Film Museum and Reframe SF for an afternoon Film Location Scavenger Hunt. Teams of 2-5 people will have three and a half hours to capture as many location shots as possible, with film related prizes for the winners. Tickets $20-25, 12-3:30pm @ Ferry Building Traffic Island.
Sunday 6/6: If you liked Thursday’s Art Walk, but prefer drinking to walking, stop by Indie Mart’s 3 year anniversary at Thee Parkside! Workshop SF will be there doing live demos every hour on the hour, and Sanfranpsycho will be screening live in all of their traveling milk truck glory. All ages are welcome at the outdoor section of the mart, 21+ up at the bar, $3 cheap, noon-6pm @ 1600 17th Street (at Wisconsin).
