Tuesday 7/13: Learn all about the Haight at the San Francisco Museum and Historical Society’s monthly lecture, this month at the historic Red Vic movie house with a special film screening. $5, 7pm@ 1727 Haight Street.
Wednesday 7/14: Better than French toast or French Fries, celebrate Bastille Day with French kisses at the French Kiss Flashmob! All interested parties should meet at Union Square at 630pm (the makeout-phobic are still welcome to participate in some French hugging). Happy Bastille Day!
Thursday 7/15: Lap dances, literature, and exhibitionism come together at the Polk Street Good Vibrations for Dr. Carol Queen’s Birthday Book Party. Live performances (musical and otherwise), awesome prizes, and proceeds to benefit the Center for Sex and Culture. Free, 7-9pm @ 1620 Polk Street.
Friday 7/16: Dave Eggers: awesome author, pirate store proprietor, all-around Bay Area legend, and illustrator? Check out the opening of Eggers’ first solo exhibition, It is Right to Draw Their Fur, at Electric Works. 6-8pm @ 130 8th Street.
Saturday 7/17: Check out the musical stylings of Adventureneer and Morning Coffee Editor, Dan Weiss, with his band, The Yellow Dress! The Yellow Dress with share the stage with the Brendan Getzell Band, Ruce!, and DJ Blair at the Cat Club. $5, 21+, 10pm @ 1190 Folsom Street.
Sunday 7/18: Get to Thee Parkside for some summer Indie Mart shenanigans! Make your own terrarium, make pie in a jar, or create your own Sock Monster with help from WorkshopSF… Broke Ass Crafts with Broke Ass Stuart… Rad food vendors courtesy of Forage SF… and San Franpsycho live printing out their badass milktruck. Oh, and a life-sized terrarium next to a PBR giveaway booth (tallboy sleeping bag — What?!?). All ages street fair (21+ inside the bar), Noon-6pm @ Thee Parkside (1600 17th Street).
