Look Okasan, No Publisher

Japanese author Ryu Murakami plans on side-stepping the “traditional publishing industry” and releasing his next novel, with the help of  a software company, exclusively on the iPad. Murakami says he hopes to make back his initial investment with “5,000 downloads.” (via PW)

Isaac Fitzgerald has been a firefighter, worked on a boat, and was once given a sword by a king, thereby accomplishing three out of five of his childhood goals.
