CSI: MIAMI: THE SOUNDTRACK
★★★★★ (2 out of 5)
Hello, and welcome to my week-by-week review of everything in the world. Today I am reviewing CSI: Miami: The Soundtrack.
Last Thursday someone lost their CSI: Miami: The Soundtrack soundtrack and I found it. Unfortunately for the owner it had been lost out of sight, underneath an abandoned car. Fortunately for me I spend a lot of time looking under abandoned cars.
At first I was excited. I love soundtracks and this one came with a very flattering picture of David Caruso on the cover. To die-hard Caruso fans it probably comes as no surprise that he doesn’t perform on the album, but for the casual fans, like myself, his picture on the cover implied a musical wonderland. I’ve always enjoyed the sound of his voice and thinking I might hear it singing songs about crime-solving was a thrilling notion.
I ran to Wal-Mart, stuck the disc into the nearest disc-accepting machine I could find, then after a lengthy discussion with a staff member I stuck the disc into a CD player and prepared for 40-50 minutes of aural treasures. That is not what I received. The album is just a bunch of random songs culled together, and I don’t think I’ve even heard any of them on the show before.
To make matters worse, the last track, “Gonna Make it There” by Baxter gets stuck and skips indefinitely. The CD won’t end unless you make it! I was so fed up I stormed out, disc in hand. Angry at why God had wasted my time (and because of some personal issues I’ve been dealing with) I threw the disc across the parking lot. I was hoping to see it shatter, but it caught some air and sailed into the face of a woman driving by. I yelled my apology as I ran away, but really, what was I apologizing for? It was CSI: Miami: The Soundtrack‘s fault.
Aside from the photo of David Caruso on the cover, there are an additional three pretty awesome photos of him on the interior. Also quite enjoyable is the track “Invisible Pedestrian” by Bent, although for me it was because it reminded me of a better song.
Please join me next week when I’ll be reviewing my fan fiction The First Airbender.
