The author Tania Hershman has started something very cool on Twitter, where she asks people to link to stories not by them that they love with the hashtag #StorySunday.

See, everytime I start to get really sick of Twitter someone does something like this and then I find myself loving it.

See also “Here’s Some Stories I Like,” which I do once or twice a month to try to highlight some of the excellent short shorts being published  online.

Seth Fischer’s writing has twice been listed as notable in The Best American Essays and has been nominated for The Pushcart Prize by several publications, including Guernica. He was the founding Sunday editor at The Rumpus and is the current nonfiction editor at The Nervous Breakdown. He is a Dornsife PhD Fellow at USC and been awarded fellowships and residencies by Ucross, Lambda Literary, Jentel, Ragdale, and elsewhere, and he teaches at the UCLA-Extension Writer’s Program and Antioch University, where he received his MFA.

    Seth, thanks so much for this! I did it partly because I am sick of the me-me-me culture (which I most definitely am guilty of participating in) and because I wanted to find new short stories to read. It’s great that other people are joining in – the idea is that during the week, if you’re waiting for a bus or something, search for #StorySunday and find something quick to read!
