As I sit here, writing on this website, thinking about the episode of Angel I just watched for the 50th time (don’t judge me), listening to various different YouTube channels (I change them every ten minutes), and wondering how the hell I will ever finish a novel when there are so many shiny things around to distract me, there are loads of people out there who are actually writing.
But many of them, now expected to be able to also work online and with videos, are unable to promote their work with these other mediums, either because of a disability or for various other reasons.
A kind of cool new project, To Voice, is trying to do something about this. Basically, it offers authors “unable to work in the video medium” the opportunity to have dramatic video readings done of their work.
Here’s an interview about the project at NANO Fiction, and here is founder Meg Pokrass doing a video segment on the project.

“To Voice” is a wonderful project that will help writers like me who are not comfortable with the way they sound (medicated)!
Murray: You and Tiff have remarkable stories and I recommend people listen to them. Marvelous Meg breathes life into mine. Dunno why, but I always sounded like a drunk from Mississippi — now, it’s a drunk from another planet.
This sounds like a great project. I’m off to go donate… (And, Seth, since I also suffer from an Angel addiction, I’m curious WHICH episode you just watched for the 50th time.)
