In an interview with the Financial Times, the seasoned 78 year-old author, Philip Roth, has decidedly sworn off reading fiction by way of saying, “‘I’ve stopped reading fiction. I don’t read it at all. I read other things: history, biography. I don’t have the same interest in fiction that I once did.’”
So, if you were wondering where Roth was and what he was doing, you can pare down the list by eliminating “reading fiction” and “accepting more literary awards” (he’s not traveling to London to accept his Man Booker International Prize) as possibilities. He is continuing to be prolific however and is working on another book.
