Cambridge University Library has a new exhibit entitled “Books and Babies: Communicating Reproduction,” which explores the ongoing interactions between the “two senses of reproduction” over time. Reflecting on “Books and Babies,” this Book Bench article suggests that while we have built an abundance of knowledge about reproduction, our thinking about the subject has been rather unchanging—verging, perhaps, on “morbid fascination.”
