Goodbye Borders. The fraught corporation is emptying its stores across the country, finishing up the initial liquidation process that began earlier this year. Read how the disconnect between workers and management, and Borders’ attempt to stop employees from unionizing, led to its ultimate demise.  We hope that small, independently-owned bookstores will come to the forefront once more and “reemerge as the primary model for selling printed books”.

Claire Rush studies Geography and French at UC Berkeley.
