Technology and higher education have been enjoying a symbiotic relationship in recent years.

Apple’s creative visions have been coming to life and flourishing on academic platforms, but now that Steve Jobs is stepping down, should we be worried about how it’s going to affect higher education? Jobs has been personally responsible for a lot of Apple’s academia focus, evidenced by the lack of attention paid to colleges in 1985 during his stint away from the company, and his departure highlights how interdependent technology has become for higher education.

  1. The online education industry is represents 48 billion dollars worldwide. It would be odd for a company like Apple to walk away from this. Surely Jobs is not the only one in Apple who is passionate about education. Here’s hoping!
