WEDNESDAY 10/12: It’s the Center for Fiction’s Big Read keynote reading with Margaret Atwood. She will talk about her new book, In Other Worlds: SF and the Human Imagination, and how science fiction has impacted both her life and her work. THURSDAY 10/13: Debut Fiction Reading with authors Teju Cole, Open City: A Novel; Anna Solomon, The Little Bride; and Fence editor Rebecca Wolff’s novel, The Beginners. All of these books were published in 2011. Lillian Vernon Creative Writers House. 7 p.m. Free.
FRIDAY 10/14: Henry Rollins, former singer for Black Flag, will discuss his new book of photographs and commentary, Occupants, with musician Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth. McNally Jackson. 7 p.m. Free.
SATURDAY 10/15: Are you a member of Poets House? Go sleepover to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. There will be poetry, discussion, and sleeping amongst the stacks of poetry books. Poet and certified hypnotherapist Kristin Prevallet will lead the group in a poetic hypnotic induction. Poets House. 9 p.m. $50 for Poets House Members (must be a member to participate).
SUNDAY 10/16: It’s a night of flash fiction at the InDigest reading.
