MONDAY 11/14: The Franklin Park Reading Series teams up with Electric Literature for a multimedia night of readings, animated films, and a dance party. The night will feature Electric Literature contributors Jim Shepard, You Think That’s Bad; Colson Whitehead, Zone One; Ben Greenman, Celebrity Chekhov; Matt Sumell, Electric Literature; and Steve Edwards, Breaking Into the Backcountry. TUESDAY 11/15: The Center Fiction hosts Authors & Editors with Rumpus Book November Book Club author Peter Orner, Love and Shame and Love, and his editor at Little, Brown, Pat Strachan. 7 p.m. Free.
WEDNESDAY 11/16: Page Meets Stage will showcase Philip Levine, U.S. Poet Laureate and spoken-word poet Adam Falkner. Bowery Poetry Club. 8 p.m. $12, $6 Students.
THURSDAY 11/17: Tonight, head out to a fiction and poetry reading featuring poet Matthea Harvey, Of Lamb, and author Lynne Tillman, American Genius, A Comedy. Lillian Vernon Creative Writers House. 7 p.m. Free.
FRIDAY 11/18: Spend your Friday night letting your inner nerd out for some fun at Nerd Nite. Gather a team of fellow nerds and take your chances at trivia and then stick around for the Nerd Nite presentations on the psychology of the Twilight series, hand-to-hand combat methods when fighting zombies, and the failures of notable explorers. Galapagos Art Space. Trivia starts at 7:30 p.m. Nerd Nite presentations start at 9:15 p.m. $14 for Nerd Nite & Trivia; $10 for presentations only.
SATURDAY 11/19: The Poetry Society of America will host A Season in Poetry, with poets Judith Baumel, Michael Dickman, and Jennifer Grotz welcoming winter with readings of their own poetry and classic favorites.
