This Week in San Francisco –welcome to July, y’all.

Monday 7/2: Quiet Lightning, San Francisco’s mix-tape-reading that publishes as a monthly journal, is on at Galería de la Raza. Featuring 11 new readers, $3 Lagunitas, and musical performance. $5 suggested donation, 7:30pm.

Tuesday 7/3: First Tuesdays all over town. Pick a museum you haven’t seen in a while and go–it’s free.

Thursday 7/5: Local bluegrass trio Three Times Bad plays at poetry reading Toxic Abatement, hosted by Full of Crow Press and Fashion for Collapse. Featuring readers Youssef Alaoui-Fdili, Zarina Zabrisky, Cassandra Dallett, Sharon Coleman, John Swain, Tim Murray, Joel Landmine, Shali Nicholas, Amy Glasenapp, Jezebel Delilah X, Missy Church, Frankie Metropolis, and Brian Fugett. 7:30pm, Viracocha.

Friday 7/6: Follow the Oakland Art Murmur with burlesque and messed-up puppets at Stork Club. First Fridays also brings out the arts in the Lower Haight and Mission (kid friendly).

Saturday 7/7: BEAST, the East Bay’s literary pub crawl, kicks off tonight with four hours and over 40 readers. Full listing here. Free, 5:30pm.

Sunday 7/8: Keep the Zygote in your Fez. The Zyfez festival, ongoing all this week, closes up with 4 hours of readings and party times. Free, 3pm The New Parish.

    A great preview of a great week! I’m reading and volunteering at BEAST (Saturday 7/7, Oakland) so I know that we have over 150 readers, not 40, actually! It should be a blast–thanks for posting!
