Brooklyn’s Greenlight Bookstore saw McSweeney’s publication The Believer celebrate its tenth anniversary this Monday.
“The Believer’s staff is all over the country, and we communicate primarily via email, so events like this are great because you get to spend time with the community around the magazine and really see email come alive,” Andrew Leland, one of the magazine’s managing editors, shared with David Shapiro in his Wall Street Journal article on the event.
Joanna Fuhrman, a professor of poetry at Rutgers University, Gary Lutz, author and professor at the University of Pittsburgh, and Brooklyn native and poet Alan Gilbert, were all featured readers at the event, highlighting the nationwide impact The Believer has developed over its ten years.
In addition to celebrating its anniversary, The Believer also recently released a collection of interviews, Always Apprentices.
