Tuesday 10/22: Poetry Flash and Moe’s Books present poets Annie Finch and Brenda Hillman (whose book Seasonal Works with Letters on Fire was recently a Rumpus Poetry Book Club pick). Free, 7:30pm at Moe’s Books.

Wednesday 10/23: Weekday Wanderlust celebrates its one-year anniversary with Bay Area writers Michele Bigley and Diane LeBow and special visiting guest David Farley, founder of New York reading series “Restless Legs.” Free, 7pm at Hotel Rex.

Thursday 10/24: Green Apple Books welcomes Will Viharo as he reads from his cult classic Love Stories Are Too Violent For Me, back in print after two decades. Free, 7pm.

Friday 10/25: Join The Emerald Tablet for the eighth installment of its performance series, Under the Influence. Four artists perform work by one of their major influences, followed by original work that channels that influence. Featuring Oki Sogumi, Nathan Grover, Carol Queen, and Moneta Goldsmith. $5 suggested donation, 7:30pm.

Sunday 10/27: The Hazel Reading Series, a monthly Bay Area chain-invitation reading series featuring women writers, continues with its October installment. The line-up includes Corey Van Landingham, Marti Paschal, Maisha Z. Johnson, Brynn Saito, Juliana Delgado Lopera, and Kiala Givehand. $5 suggested donation, 5pm at 1564 Market St.
