Saturday 12/13: Octopus Books is celebrating the publication of Picasso’s Tears 1978-2013 by Wong May with readings and performances by 15 of some of her most thoughtful readers. Performing Wong May’s work will be: Jennifer Armbrust, Samiya Bashir, Kate Bingaman-Burt, Wendy Chin-Tanner, Frances Dinger, Richard Chiem, Sara Brant Guest, Heather Napualani Hodges, Nikki Hodges-Pham, Auden Koeneke, Charles Seluzicki, Karen McAlister Shimoda, Simon Tam, Namita Gupta Wiggers, and Derek Hunter Wilson. Sunday 12/14: The Portland Poetry Slam hosts its weekly reading. Glyph, 5 p.m., free.

Tuesday 12/16: Salon Skid Row reading series presents Leanne Grabel, Brian Tibbetts, Andie Main, and music by CInema Obscura. The Corner Bar, 7 p.m., free.

Wednesday 12/17: Tavern Books and Willamette Weekly welcome Jay Ponteri, Emily Chenoweth, Margaret Malone, and Emily Kendal Frey for their annual holiday reading to support Literary Arts. Literary Arts, 7 p.m., $10 suggested donation.

The Mountain Reading Series presents Marilyn Stablein and Kate Gray. Glyph, 7 p.m., $5 suggested donation.
