Didion–with her Berkeley education, Vogue background, and nervous breakdown–always reminded me of an over-educated, real-linen wearing, self-analyzing Woody Allen character. Oh yeah, she also has an interesting career as a writer and has probably spent many evenings in Manhattan’s smartest restaurants exercising an incredible attention span with the most adolescent-minded members of New York’s literary elite.
But damn can she write.
