Blur’s first studio album in twelve years, The Magic Whip, is self-declaratively influenced by the city of Hong Kong. As a further nod to the city’s influence, Blur has hired the artist KongKee, from Hong Kong’s Penguin Lab studio, to draw a comic fitting a new release from a band that describes the late ’90s and early ’00s for so many: a nostalgia-heavy trip through a futuristic Hong Kong. If you’re in the UK, you may have already been looking for the copies Blur hid in the cities where the band played this week. For the rest of us, copies of Travel to Hong Kong with Blur are now available at the band’s concerts and via the Blur webstore. Check out a video of KongKee describing his work and relationship to the band after the jump.
